Collect and discuss external links

A Link stage collects external references such as a shared drive file, a video, a presentation, or a web page. Adding a URL doesn’t upload its contents to Stago or change permissions in the external service.

  1. Create a Link stage and open it.
  2. Choose Add Link.
  3. Paste the complete web address and add a short description of what the team should review.
  4. Save, then open the link to confirm that it leads to the intended material.

Use a normal web URL. If a service requires a signed-in account, provide access in that service as well. A Stago project invitation doesn’t grant Google Drive, Dropbox, Loom, or YouTube access.

Select the link you want to discuss, then open Comments. State whether the feedback concerns the reference, its contents, or how the team should use it. A general stage discussion may cover the whole collection; a link-specific discussion concerns the selected item.

Edit a link to correct its URL or description. Before removing one, check whether it still supports an active discussion. Removing a saved reference doesn’t delete the original external resource.

Use stage completion and approval controls according to the stage’s setup. Link collections don’t automatically create the upload/review pair used by video and audio.

The external service can change what the same URL displays. If the project needs a stable review record, upload an exported file into the appropriate content type instead of relying solely on a changing external page.

Check for a copied space, an incomplete URL, a deleted resource, or an external sign-in requirement. Ask the resource owner for access. If your client can see the Stago stage but gets an access error after opening the link, the restriction may belong to the external service.
