File formats and upload limits

Choose a stage that matches the material. File support and preview support are different: Stago can accept a Word document while requiring a download to read it.

Content Formats and input Review behavior
Video MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV Processed video preview, timeline feedback
Audio MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A, FLAC Solo waveform or track-list playback
Images JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP; gallery uploader also accepts AVIF Gallery, item feedback, enlargement
Uploaded document PDF, DOC, DOCX Browser PDF preview; Word download
Collaborative document Text written in Stago’s editor Shared rich text, text comments, history
Links External web URLs Saved references and discussion

An accepted container doesn’t guarantee that every codec plays in every browser. Export a conventional supported file if playback fails; changing the extension doesn’t convert it.

The upload must satisfy the owning workspace’s file-size limit and remaining storage. The ordinary solo-audio upload also has a 1 GB content cap; single-file image drafts have a 50 MB cap and uploaded document drafts have a 10 MB cap. Video duration has a plan allowance.

Gallery and track-list upload flows have their own validation and still use the owning workspace’s file/storage allowance. Follow the limit shown by that uploader; don’t apply the single-file image cap to every gallery operation.

Meeting recordings have a separate 500 MB cap and the formats shown in the meeting form. YouTube custom thumbnails have a separate 2 MB limit in the publishing dialog.

The plan comparison lists workspace storage, file-size allowance, and video duration alongside feature eligibility. “No plan cap” doesn’t remove content-specific limits or storage capacity.

Check the stage’s type/mode, actual file format, size, remaining storage, and your upload permission. Wait for processing before judging preview availability. Use upload troubleshooting for interrupted transfer or a blank player.

Don’t put ordinary TXT/HTML files into the PDF/Word picker simply because the editor can contain text. Paste or write the intended content in Collaborative Editor instead.
