Switch the project workspace to Flow to see stages as a connected pipeline. The canvas is another view of the same project; changes to stages affect the project itself.
Understand the connections
Section titled “Understand the connections”A dependency means that a stage waits for another stage to finish. A branch lets work split into separate paths. A merge waits for its required inputs; a line’s appearance alone doesn’t mean the work has completed.
Select a stage and inspect its dependencies to see what it waits for and what comes next. For a simple pipeline, the project’s Free or Strict workflow setting also affects stage availability.

Work on the canvas
Section titled “Work on the canvas”Use the canvas navigation and fit/zoom controls to move around. Search and filters help you find a stage; selection opens its actions and details. Use the stage menu to edit, assign, duplicate, or change state when allowed.
Add a dependency only when the downstream work truly requires the upstream result. Avoid a chain that eventually points back to itself. Use parallel paths for work that can proceed independently.
Layout controls arrange nodes; they don’t complete tasks or remove dependencies. Read labels and the dependency inspector when dense connections are difficult to follow.
Bulk actions
Section titled “Bulk actions”Select the intended stages before using bulk assignment, deadline, or status controls. Inspect the selection count and review any partial failure: some stages may reject an action because of permissions or their current state.
After a bulk operation, check the affected stages. Undo/redo availability depends on the operation; don’t assume every saved project change can be reversed with a keyboard shortcut.
A stage is still locked
Section titled “A stage is still locked”Open its dependency details and find the unfinished prerequisite. Check both upload completion and review approval where the workflow requires them. A stage marked Blocked, or a reopened earlier review, can keep later work unavailable.
